Really Nice! - 24/02/2020
Overall

Just returned from a February 2020 trip. This place has the largest and best-furnished chalet bedroom I've had in 25 years of skiing. In the bedroom there was space for 3 single beds with plenty of walking room between and around them. Also generous cupboard storage, shelving, a safe, 8 actual coat pegs (which are strangely missing from most chalets) and a very spacious slate-tiled wet-room with an amazing shower. The hotel is run along chalet lines with afternoon cake and a set 3 course eveing meal with better-than-usual wine. The evening food was not quite as good as a typical chalet, because it's being prepared on a larger scale, but still very enjoyable and filling. Breafast was much better than usual chalet fare with the option of a full English every day and pastries, fruit, cereals, bread, toast, etc etc Location is reasonable. The bus stop is a 100m walk and if you walk 100m more, there's access to a very flat run to the lifts. The exact location is behind the "Victoria Lodge" and "Chalet Skadi".

Not 4 star - 11/03/2019
Overall

The lodge is not 4 Star, not very good choice of food and when you did order your choice there is every chance that it had all gone ,rooms very small and no one came to the room except to change towels after 3 days and they where just slung on the bed.On change over day the staff where cleaning room at 4 am with music on even though we where not leaving until 7 am.Some staff where great o And others where useless.

An overall review of The Lodge - 19/04/2013
Overall

We stayed with a large group of friends at The Lodge from 6th - 13th April 2013. The staff were very helpful and friendly, especially seeing as we were a party of 18 adults and 17 children, not easy taking our orders for dinner!! The bar & restaurant area were nicely decorated and the food was good, hot & varied with plenty of wine (we never ran out!). The rooms were warm, comfortable & clean with plenty of towels and the ski boot room had ample seating & storage. The only negative issue we had (as did several other members of our party) was that the bar area by the tv was quite cold and when we asked if the radiators could be put on we were told they were on a timer. That was at 6.45pm but they had still not come on at 10pm! The Lodge is not 2 star accommodation and we did feel that as guests/clients we should have had our request granted. The final moan was again to do with the boiler and that was that the showers would turn freezing cold in an instant and you might not get anymore hot water for quite a while (a bit of a problem when you hair is full of shampoo!). This became a real problem when a family are all trying to get ready to go down for dinner and when we complained about this we were told it happens a lot because the boiler is old and can't cope with the demand!! I would suggest that you install a new boiler that can cope because on a ski holiday most people are returning to the Lodge at 5pm and dinner was at 7.30pm, so inevitably you are going to have a lot of people wanting a HOT shower at the same time.

Great service - 20/01/2013
Overall

Stayed at The Lodge for the opening week of the season and it was 1 of the best catered accommodations that we have stayed in for a long time. From the pick up at the airport to the return bus home, the staff were very attentive. Food was great and varied, All service at meal times was spot on and good to be served in proper attire and not someone wearing a scruffy t shirt. Sophie the bar person was great. Tom and his quiz night and advice on the ski area. Rooms bigger than your average chalet and on site spa/sauna was a welcome relief after a hard day skiing. All in all a great place to be!!! Would go again.
