Skiing Mottaret - 03/03/2020
Overall

Hotel clean and cosy, but interior tired; friendly and helpful staff. Meals varied and well presented. Able to ski in and ski out. Lots of pistes and very varied, all types of snow conditions from snow blizzard to full sunshine.

My Favourite Resort - 13/03/2019
Overall

This has been my favourite resort for the past couple of years. I first went in 2015 and have been back everywhere since. Apres and nightlife is really fun and lively. Loads of restaurants to choose from and the resort is so conveniently located between Courcheval and Val Thorens. Would definitely recommend for any group of people.

Travel ! Ugh ! We went out over New Year and were caught up in the travel debacle ! Both ways. We were 'lucky' in the we only spent 12 hours on a bus for a 2 1/2 hour transfer. Geneva to Meribel. Many spent the night out, some two ! We got to resort at midnight mostly thanks to a brilliant coach driver that took us off through the lanes and villages to by pass the mega jam on the main roads. Airports such as Geneva and Chambray are just not fit for purpose. Totally overwhelmed with ridiculous queues. We will not be flying out next time ! There are other ways. Up side we got the snow just in time for New Year so Meribel was white and skiing pretty good but icy towards the end. Hotel Grangette is ideal for ski slope access and après ski with views over the area and an easy walk. Almost ski to door ! With all the benefits of being 'in town' so close to all facilities. Hotel staff were great. Very helpful, knowledgeable, pleasant, happy and efficient. Food and service good. The building needs attention though. Our bath room had mould on the ceiling and fan did not work. In excusable at this point in the season ! Boot / ski room very tired and shabby and locks worn out ! Again inexcusable at this time of the season. Should have been sorted out. Spoilt an otherwise good stay.

meribel 3 vallees - 03/12/2014
Overall

get a 3 valley lift pass !try the run down to la tania a nice blue la foliere at the bottom try out the food at le pub on the other side over at st martin try jerusalem i think its a red but its so wide nice and easy a real confidence booster a slightly more difficult one is mount vallon but once again its a very wide piste so you can take as long as you want to get down. The runs on the val thorn side do get very cut up though late in the afternoon on the way back to meribel The pistes in corcheval seem to be groomed a lot better than those in meribel for some reason nice corduroy. back in meribel there are a couple of free (yes free) chair lifts and you can do a run called la lapin by the altiport down to meribel village then get the free bus back up to the morel chair lift and do it again if you wish. we did it last year a half day skiing for free a good way to get your ski legs back! check out the folio duce in meribel you won,t have to look far you,ll here it first [we got caught in a white out and all we could suddenly hear was boom boom boom headed towards it and found it!!! we,re heading back to the three vallees again for the 5th time in 3 years and we,ve still loads more of runs to do especially on the val thoren side we want to try to get to orrelle side of val thorn a 4th valley so this is a completely unbiased report even though i work meribel tourist board[oh my god what a give away] seriously though this is a great resort not the best in the world maybe but great resort!!
