New Years Skiing 2016/2017 - 13/01/2017
Overall

Great chalet, perfect for people who aren't wanting to be right in the middle of the village, but are also wanting to experience what 1800 has to offer. Chalet Yves is located down a little dirt track, not far away from the main village. From start to finish we couldn't fault the chalet host and resort rep, they did whatever the could to keep us happy. The chalet hosts cooking was amazing, still don't know how he pulled off some amazing food in such a small kitchen! There is only one bathroom for 7 people, which could be problematic for some people, but we made it work. The rooms are basic but comfy. The lounge area had some comfy seating, but the highlight was the log burning fire! Les Arcs 1800 had some awesome bars and restaurants, favorites being Bar King Mad and Red Hot Saloon. The skiing is great for all levels and there is great access (via the Vanoise express) that takes you over to La Plange. One awesome apres bar which Les Arcs has to offer, the Arpette, is located conveniently on the way down to 1800. Overall, great chalet and great skiing.

Chalet Yves w/c 4/2/17 - 11/02/2017
Overall

Just returned from a great week in les arcs ! Where to start ? Well, firstly must bear in mind this is not the most expensive accommodation in les arcs. We booked as particularly wanted to stay in the area(again) but on a budget. The chalet is compact and has its own charm! Cute and charismatic probably discribes it. Got to say, our host Ed, was amazing and could not fault the food or the banter ! You should be aware that there is only one bathroom/toilet, which we worked with as all family and had the whole chalet. Could be more of a problem for others. It has been said that there is a lack of hot water. This is true and no room for anyone selfish in the bathroom! Maybe this could be addressed? Also the lounge area does lack one or two more chairs. Again, easily addressed. Rooms are compact with limited storage, but reasonably comfortable. The location was better than expected. Whilst there is an approx 100m up hill path from the chalet, it was cleared regularly ( it snowed the first four days). However, a good tip is pay approx 3euros per day to leave hired equipment in the village at the shop so you can walk down in comfortable boots ! We found it approx a 10 min walk into the village for the 1st lift, bars or shops. Didn't try the bus. Ed was happy to leave ski boots inside the door to dry, whilst skis in locked, outside store room. 1800 has bars for everyone, from a cheeky beer after a hard day skiing to full on clubbing to 4 in the morning ! Though never disturbed by noise. Plus as previously mentioned the Arpette, which needs to be experienced! Though remember, you must still ski back to the chalet ! In summery, I think this is a great value chalet in an amazing ski area
