Ptarmigan Chalet, Vail

Ptarmigan was recently extensively renovated.  The changes included under-floor heating and redecoration as well as the upgrading of many bathrooms. It is an extremely comfortable luxury ski chalet and was given the accolade by the Daily Telegraph of being one of the Worlds top ten ski chalets. Our catered chalet holidays all include daily breakfast and afternoon tea, plus a three course dinner and post meal Drambuie on six nights out of every seven night period. We also include champagne and canapés on Sundays before dinner and a choice of wines with your meals. There is a well-stocked ‘honesty’ bar in the lounge. Ptarmigan is situated at Booth Falls just to the east of the centre of Vail and has southerly views over the Aspen trees across the valley to the ski area. It is just five minutes drive to the centre of Vail or a 250m walk to the free regular resort shuttle, which takes about 10 minutes into the town. At street level the entrance hall leads into the large open-plan lounge/dining area with seating around the wood burning fireplace. There is a cable TV/VCR/DVD and CD player plus complimentary WiFi internet access throughout the whole chalet. There is access from the dining area to the deck on the south side where the outdoor five person hot tub is situated. The house slopes away from the street so the lower floor rooms have an open southerly aspect. All bedrooms have TV, hair dryer, bathrobes and slippers. Ptarmigan Chalet also offers two rooms which have additional sofa beds which can only be used by groups booking the whole chalet – this allows a maximum occupancy of 14 guests. The chalet has a separate room providing additional ski storage space and a boot drying area. All meals are prepared by our mature and experienced chalet hosts whose task it is to look after your well-being for the duration of your stay. Chalet hosts have one well-earned night off per week – depending on staff rotas, this sometimes may mean that guests on 10 or 11 night holidays may have dinner provided on only eight or nine nights. We welcome bookings that include children under the age of 12 years, with the proviso that they must be part of a group booking the whole chalet. Special arrangements can be made for birthdays or anniversaries via our concierge. There are only two parking spaces at Ptarmigan and parking on the street is strictly prohibited. Out chalet is strictly non-smoking.
