Drove to Val d'Isere 8th April 2023 - 11/05/2023
Overall

We drove out to Club Med Val d'Isere on the second week of the Easter holidays - we are a family of four. We were really impressed with all aspects of Club Med from the food and service to the ski lessons and events. The ski lessons, kids reps and set up for children is fantastic - Our children 9 & 10 both had a fantastic time in ski lessons and compared to other family ski operators the club med experience was calm and enjoyable for them. They both made friends as there were plenty of English families in the hotel. The Hotel is ski in ski out which is fantastic and it was possible to ski to the club med in Tignes and have lunch there (arrange in advance). Everything is included with Club Med (except ski hire) so you can drink and eat to your hearts content, your full area lift pass and ski lessons (these start on a Monday) are also included so great value for money.

Luxury on the slopes - 12/03/2019
Overall

Had a great week in Val D'Isere with Club Med booked via Igluski.com The flight left at 12 noon from Bournemouth which I'd thoroughly recommend - small enough to make everything easy and uncrowded but big enough to have everything you need. The transfer from Geneva is a long one and because we waited for another flight to land it meant that we didn't arrive at our hotel until 7.30 at night - a very long day. Being so late meant that we missed the Welcome meeting and lost out on hearing the information about hotel, resort etc. The food and drink at the hotel is all of a very high standard and plenty of it - it's also available throughout the day! Our room was B25 and was a bit of a walk from the lounge, bar etc but we liked it as it had a balcony overlooking the slope and was very quiet. The pool area is excellent and hardly used which shocked us - a very busy hotel but other guests not interested in the pool or sauna. However a hot tub was advertised but that was only for Premium guests! The boot room and locker was good and the access onto the slope wonderful - easy runs from and back to the hotel. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and were enthusiastic about everything you talked to them about We've been skiing for many years and enjoyed the resort but did think that some of the slopes were badly graded eg some reds could have been blacks and some blues were very dark red, in our opinion - not good if you've just started to ski. We didn't have the lessons which were included in the price but you could if you wanted to. We also hired skis independently as the ski hire at the hotel was rather pricey. The cafes on the slopes were lovely and not as expensive as we expected - 2 diet cokes cost about 7 Euros Maybe because we missed the Welcome meeting we didn't realise that we would have a wake up call on our last day - the phone rang at 3.45 to wake us although we didn't need to leave the hotel until 4.45. Annoying as we didn't need an hour to get ready and it meant we were sitting waiting for our transfer for half an hour! All in all a great ski holiday though and we're already planning our next one :)
