Best Après bars and Nightlife in La Rosiere

La Rosiere Resort Bars

If you’re the type that likes to ski all day and party all night, La Rosière might not be the resort for you.

That said, it still has a decent supply of family-friendly après spots, live music, and cocktail bars.

La Rosière was purpose built as a ski resort in the 1950s, and it still retains much of its traditional, Savoyarde architecture: lots of lovely chalets built from wood, stone, and slate. It's the perfect place for adults with kids to have a relaxed après drink in a charming setting - just don’t expect toffee vodka shots and table dancing.

Still, there are sunny terraces, DJs, and 4am finishes if you know where to look. We’ve picked out our favourite après bars in La Rosière that you should head to after a satisfying day on the slopes.

The best après ski bars and nightlife hotspots in La Rosière are:

  • Le Comptoir - Best for live music and DJs
  • Le Blue Bar - Best sports bar
  • H40 Brasserie - Best for cocktails
  • Moo Bar - Best for late night drinks
  • Snack Bar Relais Petit Saint Bernard - Best for sunny terrace
  • La Taverne du McKinley - Best for family-friendly apres
  • Le Flocon - Best for a family evening out

Discover more about these top bars below.

Best bar in La Rosière for live music - Le Comptoir

Le Comptoir is a bit livelier than some of the other bars around La Rosière and tends to attract a younger crowd. There’s a large, 300 metre squared terrace, which sometimes hosts BBQs, and a wine and cocktail bar upstairs. If you’re a beer fan, you’ll be well-catered for, with 14 different versions of the amber liquid on tap.

Le Comptoir frequently has DJs playing, as well as regular themed evenings and, on Wednesdays, a live band. There are also large TVs to display all the biggest sporting fixtures. You can find it right in the centre of the village of La Rosière at the foot of the slopes, making it the perfect place to reunite with your group for an après session. It stays open until 2am.

Best bar in La Rosière for watching live sport - Le Blue Bar

Another good option for those after a more lively après scene, Le Blue Bar is open from 5pm to 2am, and, while it only offers half the number of draught beers as Le Comptoir, boasts 70 different shots. We wouldn’t recommend trying to sample them all in one night.

The bar also hosts the resort’s billiards club and broadcasts sporting events on a giant screen.

Best cocktail bar in La Rosière - H40 Brasserie

A relatively recent addition to the resort (it opened in 2017), H40 Brasserie is based in the four star Hyatt Centric Hotel in Les Eucherts. The bar is modern and stylish, with a fireplace constantly roaring in the centre of the room. It also has a large south-facing terrace that offers impressive views across the valley.

With ambient DJs on hand to provide a soothing soundtrack to proceedings, and a roster of intriguing cocktails, H40 is a great place to relax and unwind after an adventurous day out on the mountain. On Friday, the atmosphere gets an upgrade courtesy of a live band.

Best bar in La Rosière for late night drinks - Moo Bar

Moo Bar is the only real late night bar in La Rosière and keeps its doors open right on up until 4am. However, in this case, long opening hours doesn’t equate to a rowdy party atmosphere. The vibe in Moo Bar is very chilled. More lounging around on comfortable sofas and drinking cocktails while the resident DJ plays low fi house music than dancing and shots. There’s also a pool table and sometimes live music. Find it in Les Eucherts.

Bar in La Rosière with the best sunny terrace - Snack Bar Relais du Petit Saint Bernard

This family-run institution is the perfect place for a chilled drink on a sunny terrace - ideal for families! Snack Bar Relais du Petit Saint Bernard has been run by the Arpins for 50 years - as long as the La Rosière has existed as a resort - and still exudes a lot of that authentic Alpine charm. Find it at the foot of the slopes and enjoy a beer and a snack while gazing out over the High Tarentaise valley.

It's also conveniently located near the nursery slopes, so the kids can carry on skiing (or sledging) while parents settle into the après. You may also be lucky enough to catch the Tuesday accordion performance or to participate in one of the infamous Thursday karaoke sessions.

Best Bar in La Rosière for family-friendly après - La Taverne du McKinley

La Taverne du McKinley offers similar benefits to families as Snack Bar Relais. Located very close to the main lifts in La Rosière centre, it’s lively but not rowdy and has a lovely terrace on which to enjoy a post ski drink in the sunshine. Once the Clarines lift closes at 5pm, the piste behind the bar turns into a tobogganing slope, so parents can relax while watching their kids sledging.

Best bar in La Rosière for a family evening out

Le Flocon’s big selling point is that it’s attached to the bowling alley, so groups or families can grab a pitcher of beer, some soft drinks, and some snacks and indulge in a bit of friendly, post-ski competition. If the weather is nice, there’s also a decent south-facing terrace with great views of Mount Pourri. You can ski right up to the door of Le Flocon, which is located at the foot of the slopes in Les Eucherts.
