Courchevel 1850 is the highest and the largest of the 5 villages that make up the resort of Courchevel, the others being Courchevel 1650, Courchevel 1550, Le Praz and La Tania.
Part of the Three Valleys ski area, Courchevel is considered as the most varied and extensive sector and for many there is enough skiing just in Courchevel to keep you entertained throughout a whole ski holiday. There is easy access to the rest of the Trois Vallees area from Courchevel 1850 with two gondolas linking from Courcehvel to Meribel and then from here you can reach the resorts of Val Thorens, St Martin de Belleville and Les Menuires.
Courchevel 1850 is the largest of the villages and as such is the focal point of the area. It is also the smartest and priciest of the villages, but it wins these accolades because it has the most to offer; more hotels, more restaurants, more bars, more nightclubs and more facilities and from a skiing point of view, the easiest access to the pistes.
