Ski resorts in Russia
Ski areas in Russia are diverse, but recommended more for intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders because of the steep areas and high altitude.
Krasnaya Polyana (Sochi
) is the leading ski resort in Russia. Huge improvements have been made to Sochi’s ski resort infrastructure over the past years, but it is still not up to the standards we expect in other European resorts. This combined with visa costs, crime levels and flight schedules will make the destination difficult to choose over other popular resorts.
Snow conditions in Russia
As Russia is so large, conditions will vary from resort to resort. Krasnaya Polyana is the best resort in Russia for powder and is often compared to conditions in Japan! It has a long season with consistent snowfall until May.
