Snow Conditions in Switzerland (30 April 2015)
Mostly cloudy skies were in place over Switzerland on Thursday, although sadly these are expected to thicken over the weekend and lots of rain is forecast. The freezing level is expected to rise above 3,000m so rain is set to fall to all levels.
Limited skiing is on offer at Adelboden (0/70cm) and on the glacier at Les Diablerets (0/275cm). Four lifts were turning at the former and eight were running at the latter to access 9km and 22km of pistes respectively. Both are set to close this weekend, but Engelberg (0/350cm) is set to remain open well into May with seven lifts accessing a limited 20km of slopes.
For greater mileage head to Samnaun (10/180cm), where 186km of slopes remain open, including the runs back to resort. Zermatt (0/210cm) is another good option with 120km of pistes open, including the link across to Cervinia in Italy. Samnaun is closing after Sunday 3rd May, but Zermatt is set to remain open all summer.
All of our other featured Swiss resorts are now closed for the season.
