What an incredible holiday!  The Hermitage hotel staff were friendly and welcoming - nothing was too much hassle.  The hotel decor was typical 'club' style (a bit tired) but the rooms were spotlessly clean and the bathroom was large and modern.  Childcare, both Pepi Penguin and Whizz Kids, were excellent. Food was as good as any decent restaurant with a great selection. Kids meals were well catered for and the afternoon après-ski coffee and home-made cookies and cakes were well worth leaving the slopes for (and I don't leave the slopes for just anything!). Maybe we were just lucky and everything simply went our way or maybe this was an outstanding package ski holiday...Whatever the reason we will definitely be returning next year.

I found the L'Hermitage to be a fantastic base to explore the vast skiing offered in Alp D'Huez - you can literally ski back to within 20 meters of the chalet door & is conveniently located near the bucket lift to ensure you can get first tracks in the morning. The staff were all fantastic & prepared great meals everyday. I was particularly impressed with the afternoon tea, which is the best I have had anywhere. The rooms were clean & comfortable & I would recommend a room with a balcony if available. Skiing wise Alp D'Huez has fantastic long runs, with some huge vertical gains - for a good thigh burn & spectacular scenery, the red "Rousses" run is a real gem. If you like moguls, check out "The Tunnel" (advanced skiers only) - there are also some beautiful off piste routes that start here. Overall a fantastic property in a great resort - I would recommend it to anyone in a flash!

I have just returned from a week at the L' Hermitage and was pleasantly surprised. The location is perfect with a bucket lift only 50m walk from the door or walk over to the beginner slopes which is about 200m. The staff were superb and couldn't do enough to help. It is a great place for families as the kids are well looked after. Food was spot on with a good selection at dinner. A cooked breakfast was offered every morning and afternoon tea is not to be missed. Cakes, cookies, filter coffee are freshly made each day. They also offer a ski guide service every day but be quick and put your name down to take advantage of this as spaces are limited. The main centre of town is only a short walk away. Don't forget to take advantage of the bar which offer beers at 3.50 Euros a pint with flat screen TV’s to play your favourite sporting event. If you are not skiing there is plenty to do. Why not try the ice skating, swimming pool, sports hall, snow mobiling, paragliding to name just a few. If you manage to get around the whole of Alpe D' Huez or fancy something different just take up there offer of a day away in Serre Chevalier or Les Deuxs Alpes which leaves from the hotel. Room are adequate and comfortable and are cleaned every morning. Ski lockers and boot racks are found downstairs with easy access out the back door to slopes. All in all I would definitely visit again as it was great value for money, friendly staff and perfect location to slopes.

I just returned from the Club Hotel L'Hermitage, i was very happy with my experience from the food, great breakfasts and evening meals to the great location of the hotel, everything is no more than a five min walk away and the main lift is around 30 secs away. I would recommend the L'Etalon bar they have some great flavoured rums. The staff in the hotel I could not fault and got on really well with some.
