Chalet Curling, Val Thorens, France

Firstly the positives. Our chalet host was fantastic. He made the trip for us. A great chef, great positivity and a pleasure to spend the week with. Been on quite a few of these catered chalet weeks at different price points and although this was cheaper end, Harry’s cooking, cleaning and personality was top notch. The accommodation itself is basic. There are two toilets for 12 guests with no sinks in them. Personally I found the alcohol rub sufficient and was actually probably more hygienic but is a bit odd. The lift is hit and miss but you pay for what you get. Don’t expect a 5 star luxury chalet but for a group of 30year old friends, it was fine for us. Ultimately these chalets come down to the host and we were very lucky to have Harry.
