Hotel Dragon, Cervinia, Italy

Great friendly team headed by Fiona. Food and wine both very good, nice bar area, ski to door. The only down side was the size of our twin room. 9/10 overall. would revisit again.

I went with my 20 yr old son. We both ski and have never stayed in Italy before. We've both been to all the big French resorts and wanted a change. The added bonus of this Italian resort is its connection to Zermatt. We're a bit spoilt and like almost ski to door accommodations. The Hotel Dragon didnt disappoint on that level. Very friendly staff and clean rooms. Great location right near the main chairlift. Ask for an extra pillow though and the beds are very firm. Im a vegetarian and they had no problem with this at meal times. The slopes are wide and mostly easy reds. A few nice blacks but the more challenging skiing is in Zermatt. We skied over twice during our stay. The weather stopped us going over more but to be honest I think we would only have gone one more day the max as plenty of little off piste places to play in Cervinia.The snow was excellent, even in late March. Only had queues for the lifts in Zermatt, Cervinia was quiet the week before Easter Hols.The resort itself is pretty but very small. Not the place to go with mates for a party week but great for families or couples. Theres heli skiing and you can book a night out on a skidoo to a restaurant in the hills which is fun. I highly recommend this hotel and the skiing was great. Glad we made a change from France and dont really want to go back to a French resort for a while as it was nice to get a welcome and friendly face wherever we went.
