Hotel Orso Grigio - Pinzolo, Italy
In a village called Carisolo, Hotel Orso Grigio is a hop, skip and a jump from Pinzolo and the Campiglio ski area. A quick stroll gets you to the bus stop, then it’s a short ride before you’re gliding up the slopes on the gondola. Après-ski? Think saunas, a hammam, hot tub and more waiting to help you unwind.
From the outside, it’s classic alpine – think cream walls, timber balconies and a mountain backdrop that looks like it’s been plucked from a postcard. Inside, it’s warm and traditional, with wood decor, rich-coloured furnishings and classical artworks hanging here and there. The rooms are no-frills but cosy, thanks to exposed wood beams and that soft, welcoming glow from the lamps.
Start your day the Italian way at the buffet breakfast, where the likes of croissants, cheeses and cold cuts are up for grabs. Evenings are all about homemade 3-course dinners packed with local flavours. And when the night rolls in, the bar’s your spot, with live music setting the tone once a week.
