Champex is a lovely traditional village set beside a lake and surrounded by woods. It is situated between Great St Bernhard and Mont Blanc massifs and offer 15km of pistes.

Skiing in Champex
The resort has particularly good skiing for intermediate standard but it also offers terrain for both beginners and advanced skiers, just not the extensive terrain that most experienced skiers look for in a ski holiday.
Champex is however part of the Haute Route itinerary. This route goes from Chamonix in France to Zermatt is Champex is usually the second stop over on this excursion.
For snowboarders it also has a snowpark with a halfpipe.
Snow conditions in Champex
Champex slopes are above 2000m and has north facing slopes, so snow cover is reliable. It is also able to make artificial snow by snow cannons.
Après ski, restaurants and other activities in Champex
The resort has some restaurants ideal for lunch and dinner. The Cafe-restaurant de la Breya is great for lunch on the slopes, located at the top of the lift and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
Champex has other activities including snowshoeing, ice skating, 30km of cross country ski trails, paragliding and even walks with St Bernard dogs. The ice rink is situated next to the Belvedere Hotel but you have to supply your own ice skates to use it. There is also a toboggan run by the Champex slope and into the resort village which provides great fun for the family.
