Cascades - 09/04/2019
Overall

Excellent last minute break: We had never tried Chalet accommodation before but will certainly do so again. Les Cascades was perfectly placed for us for lifts. in 25 yrs of skiing we have never had a bathroom that was actually wheelchair accessible. Iglu rang us a few days before concerned about access and I asked if a seat could be obtained for shower. Anna the Manageress had got 2 plastic chairs which worked superbly for us. She came up to help translate at the Lift pass desk and contacted resort about Lift access for adaptive mono-skis. She was an awesome hostess! Food exceeded expectations. (the daily pre-dinner Prosecco was most welcome!) Apres ski was there for those who wanted with ski-bus access to neighbouring villages. Schuss Bar immediately downstairs was fully accessible and there were other bars , cafes and supermarkets easily within a short push.

Courcheval 1650 - Chalet Hotel Cascades - 28/03/2019

First of all, thank you to Iglu Ski for rescuing our ski holiday to Val D'Isere which was cancelled after 2 days of booking it due to a supplier ceasing to trade - very unusual for a ski trip! Second holiday to this Chalet Hotel. Great access to the slopes, good food and very well looked after. Very good for special dietary requirements for one of my group. I'll be back!

We stayed in Chalet Cascades, from the beginning of the Holiday to the end Ana & Ross and the rest of the team could not have made anymore of an effort to make us feel welcomed, the food was great. Nothing was too much bother....a wonderful stay!

Room for improvement! - 31/12/2014
Overall

The chalet is in the most perfect location, directly opposite the escalator to the main lift in 1650 and with a bus stop on the doorstep for 1850. The room we had (#200) was huge, very spacious, quiet as it had a valley view, and was kept immaculate by the chalet staff. Unfortunately, the food was not up to standard - either bland, under cooked to the point of raw, overcooked or misjudged portion size (enormous!). Guests had to continuously ask for missing items from the breakfast table as staff weren't proactive in seeing what needing replacing, but were pleasant when asked. However, why serve par-baked frozen bread and croissants? There is a bakery 75m from the chalet which serves an excellent range of breads, and in the end we bought our own from there to have with dinner. .

Chalett Hotel not for everyone. - 06/04/2014
Overall

Chalet Cascades has an excellent location, in the center of 1650 straight across from the escalator to the cable care car system. The chalet staff and tour staff were helpful and friendly, and having a lift in the chalet was very useful. The room was clean and tidy and included a TV, which is unusual in a chalet room. The toilet in the room is a design disaster, as it's too small and separate from the washroom, so you have to come out of the toilet and open the door to the washroom to wash your hands. Breakfast was good and plentiful, while afternoon tea was OK but uninspiring. The main evening meal was variable, with a couple of dishes particularly poor (the pork was really tough, the beef stew was bland and a lot of goat cheese starters returned to the kitchen barely touched) and some were excellent (the lamb, chicken and cod), but on the whole, the food was of a good standard. My partner, who is vegetarian, reported that all the vegetarian meals were wonderful. Unfortunately there were 2 issues with the dining experience that put me off this 'hotel'; The four choices of wine with the meal were very poor. The noise level of 40+ people dining at the same time was ridiculous. Perhaps we were unlucky, as one table close to us were particularly noisy, which meant that everyone else had to shout to have a conversation, but this ruined the ambiance and intimacy of the chalet dining experience for me and for others at our table. For this reason alone I would not return to Chalet Cascades.
