Fantastic Value for money - 14/04/2015
Overall

The whole holiday could not have been better organised. We bookd very last minute, but it made no difference. The Iglu travel agent could nt have been more efficient and helpful. We have never done a package holiday as a family & it was easy from start to finish. The reps in the resort could nt have been better. We had nothing organised before we left & by the time we reached the resort on the coach lift passes & ski lessons with Evolution 2 (brilliant!) had been sorted. The hotel was clean, organised and warm. The food was more than adequete (we came back much fatter which must be a good sign) & the staff really friendy & fun. They even organised a bespoke menu for my fussy eating daughter. For what we paid for the holiday we can't fault it in anyway. Thanks all. ps the resort swimming pool if great (most amazing view & free is you have a lift pass).

It was a 'just what it says on the tin' holiday. The information on the website was very accurate - particularly when describing the route home as a black run that takes you back to the hotel. Although not described as 'ski in/ski out' is was as near as could be to that, and the black run though steep was not a problem for my partner and I on the way home even though conditions weren't that good on the slopes (hard-packed and in places icy). There were several options for getting up and out onto the slopes in the morning, including walking round the back of the hotel and skiing from there or getting the frequent and free bus to various points in the local area. Having had a number of Mark Warner holidays over the years the hotel was just what we'd come to expect - fairly basic and lacking in space to put things like bags - there was almost no surface space in the room and it was very cramped. The radiator in our room had burst the day of our arrival and flooded the room, soaking the carpet. By the time we arrived at the hotel the plumbers were booked for the next day (Monday), a heater had been placed in the room and the staff could not have been more helpful in making sure that we were looked after. True to their word, the new radiator was installed while we were on the slopes the next day. Excellent service on that score! The steps from the hotel down to the pavement that we had to negotiate with our skis was probably the greatest risk we took all week - the stone steps were in desperate need of repair and the top step was thick shiny ice. How no one hurt themselves was a miracle! Price of broadband for the week was extortionate. Food was lovely but there was a lack of vegetables on the whole. Transfers, ski passes, ski guiding were all excellent. Though it was the last week in January we had blue skies every day though the resort badly needed new snow. We were better off than other resorts so no complaints! Would recommend this resort and hotel to my friends for a good last-minute deal.

work those edges and eat the tea - 08/04/2011
Overall

I spent a week (13-20 March) in Tignes having booked the day prior to the flight. As a consequence I shared my room with two others. The chalet hotel was clean and well maintained and offered all the facilities I required. All members of the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Food was of a high quality and plentiful as I require on a ski till I drop holiday. I was particularly pleased to find that unlike most chalets to which I have been the afternoon tea was served for a reasonable time. Tea started, as usual, at 4pm but continues with a good choice of food till after 5pm. My usual experience is that by the time I get in having skied till the last lift closed tea was over, thus those who have skied hardest and are most in need of food don't get any. Not so this year, a big plus. I tend to ski, eat and sleep so am not interested in any other activities so can’t comment. We were fortunate in having some fresh snow and though the weather was not at its best had six full days skiing, and to my delight my turning improved greatly, its not just bend ze knees, its twiddle ze hips, use those edges, flip from one edge to another. Overall I was delighted by my holiday, many thanks to all those who helped to make it so enjoyable.

I stayed here in December 09. The food and wine was great. The staff were really friendly. The location was good. You have a short walk and then you can ski back down to nearby lift. You can ski back to around 200m to the accommodation at the end of the day, but it is on a black run. Rooms very nice and quiet. Great skiing.
