Dated but friendly. Breakfast starts at 8am, as the hotel is full of skiers wanting to hit the slopes there are bottle-necks for the two coffee machines and also trying to get around the limited space allocated for the buffet breakfast. Having said that the breakfast was good with hit and cold options with various breads and pastries.
We had three rooms, two in the annex got good reviews, three of us were in a triple, room 208, which was not good. The shower had no power, just a dribble. We reported to hotel reception but nothing improved. The bedroom window overlooked some sort of delivery or service yard. It was very noisy from 6am. Also the church bells are very very loud in this room.
We turned the radiators off and left the window open as it was so hot ( in February).
The Neilson brochure shows a nice galleried dinning area, however we were in another dinning area tucked away, NOT what we were expecting from the brochure/website photos, very misleading.
I don't usually bother with writing reviews but felt this needed to be noted!!!
More positive notes.
Good boot/ski room.
Dinners were generally nice.
Bar staff and bars were nice.
Great central location, but anywhere in Saalbach is not far away.
Accommodation & Value 2/5
