Perfect 3 day ski break - 10/03/2020
Overall

The hotel Les Cimes du Soleil / Club Belambra was amazing value for money. Avoriaz is a great resort for a short ski trip. Esther (Igluski agent) was fab, really helpful, and the trip ran really smooth. Thank you!! Chris

Big Ski Area - 11/02/2019
Overall

This is the last of the big French ski areas I have skied. The Avoriaz/Swiss resorts are well linked tho' not for a less confident skier. It is best to decide each day if you are going to ski Morzine/Les Gets or the Avoriaz/Swiss side to avoid having to getting on and off the navette which in peak season will be extremely busy. Best feature is the length of the runs blue, red and some of the blacks. Some of the blue runs are quite tough and would probably be red in other resorts. Conversely some would be green.

Perfect for families - 23/05/2016
Overall

We had a fabulous week in the Easter holidays. We were lucky to have significant snowfall on the first day which set the slopes up well for the week ahead. Avoriaz is a perfect resort for families - car free, ski in-ski out, plenty of variety in the skiing and a lot of family friendly apres-ski options. There is an ice-rink in the centre of town, sledging area, bowling alley and Aquariaz (an indoor pool complex) which is more than enough to keep everyone happy.

Fantastic ski holiday - 22/06/2010
Overall

Avoriaz is a wonderfully catered for resort. It is great for beginners as it has lots of long and relaxing beginners runs. The resort also has some great runs for the slightly more capable skiers, shorter, steeper, longer and faster... On top of this, it boasts the famous 'Wall' slope, with huge moguls and an almost 300m vertical drop. The ski and snow parks in the resort a great fun for all the family, with jumps, games, and lifts. Life in the resort is also quite relaxed and friendly. There are a few lovely bakeries for fresh bread and croissants in the morning and some small and cosy cafes/bistros for afternoon hot chocolates and evening coffees. There are no roads in the resort which means skiing from your door is possible. The lovely mode of transport in and around the resort are horse-drawn carriages fit with sleigh bells. A highlight of Avoriaz is the chance to ski into Switzerland and enjoy the lovely woodland runs.

Avoriaz is a great resort for skiers and boarders of all levels. If its long smooth runs, challenging bumpy blacks, the boardparks or the off-piste on the Swiss side of the area, Avoriaz offers it all. Situated in the middle of the Portes du Soleil ski area, Avoriaz has the best access to the other resorts that share the domain. The resort itself sits on a plateau high above the neighboring town of Morzine. The phrase ski from your door applies to every hotel and apartment. The buildings are connected by a series of elevators and walkways, to make access to all areas as easy as possible. Bars and restaurants are plentiful and offer a wide range of menus and prices. Nightclubs tend to be empty most evenings, maybe because of the high drink and entrance prices. Shopping is limited but the nearby town of Morzine offers a wide range of supermarkets, sport shops and boutiques.
