Great spring skiing destination! - 20/05/2019
Overall

At an altitude of 2100m Cervinia is a great place to ski late season. With access to the Zermatt glacier with the full area lift pass you can guarantee great snow conditions. Cervinia has some great cruisy blues and reds and is a good resort to progress your skiing ability and perfect your turns. There are a couple of great watering holes on the way down the mountain. Starting from Chalet Plantorrette for an amazing pizza and dancing on the tables, down to the bar at Principe delle Nevi where you can chill on the terrace in from of the outdoor pool and to finish off, skiing down to the Chalet Dragon for happy hour!

Looking for a snow sure resort all year round look no further than Cervinia. With access to Zermatt ski area without paying the same sky high prices for accommodation. Transfer time to resort is under 2hrs from Turin. The iconic Matterhorn mountain offers an impressive back drop to your skiing There are some serious long runs including the run back from Zermatt which is over 11km Highway 7 on the piste map. Plus with the runs into Valtournenche 1524m from the Plateau Rosa 3480m 22km of skiing heaven Cervinia is not a party town but it is skiing you like this is the place for you. With 29 peaks over 4000m you can see why this ski area is a must for any serious ski enthusiast.

Cervinia - 02/12/2011
Overall

A good, snow-sure resort. Lots of long runs, although the lifts seem long as well, because the pistes all seem to descend under the lifts. It means that you seem to spend more time on lifts than skiing. It's great to go over into the Zermatt area, which adds an element of adventure and interest. Food and drink are pretty expensive in the village, and on the hill. It can get REALLY cold up in the high areas of the resort!

Known more as 'The Italian Secret' Cervinia is one of the more popular Ski resorts for the Italians however in recent years it has seen more British families and Russians make the trip to the top of Mont Cervino. The village is very quaint with many restaurants and shops. I can highly recommend the restaurant 'Jour et Nuit' especially if you love your good quality red meat and fine wines. The Village has 2 ski lifts and a junior nursery slope along with a Gondala to the main Ski area of Plain Maison where you have access to the entire mountain. From Cervinia you can ski over the mountain to Zermatt or across to Valtournenche. All in all I believe that this is a superb resort for the family and beginner/intermediate skier. There are some challenging black runs in the resort however there are many more on the run down to Zermatt. Well worth a visit, and a guaranteed snow resort!
