Le Diable 1. A great snow-sure piste for all with easy access thanks to the high speed Express Diable lift starting in the resort and climbing to 2,400mtrs. From the top skiers peer down to the resort which suddenly looks very small. The impressive scenery takes in another massive vertical drop of another 800 metres from the resort centre all the way down to the valley floor and Venosc. This is flanked by the majestic Meije peaks giving the resort it’s well-earned name of Deux Alpes.

Great stay, amazing views of the valley, The dinner service was great with lots of delicious food - you wont go to bed hungry. Definitely worth stopping and dipping in the pool or spa. Great showers in the room!!

Positive points - Nice, newly built hotel with pretty good facilities (kids loved the pool), close to the lifts, with a Spar only a 5 minute walk away for the weekly shop. Negative points - Its a bit like flying EasyJet. The initial price is very good, but watch out for the extras and check EVERYTHING for breakages as soon as you arrive: *If I had known that I was going to charged 6euros per person per towel pack then I would have brought our own. *The TV remote (and connecting cable) were extra...thank god for ipads. *The WIFI was extra (free in most of the bars so why not here?). *Mopping the floor on my hands and knees (the cheapest plastic handle in the world had broken) ten minutes prior to getting on the departing coach wasn't ideally how I want to remember Les2Alpes....or of course I COULD have paid the extra 56euros cleaning fee (in fact its too soon to say that my credit card hasnt actually been hit for this!) *Finally, be aware that there are no twin beds available despite what your Booking Acknowledgement might suggest. Personally I dont rate this place at all for snowboarding, hence the 2*; there are too many long flat runouts, not enough off piste opportunities and the descents on the lower slopes are limited to a painfully slow green/blue track or some really hairy Blacks. This said, the latter were only reduced to sheets of ice because of the lack of snow. Ignore my apres ski grade....we were too busy getting kids fed, showered and in to bed.

I have stayed in Les Duex Alpes a number of times and every time I go back I’m reminded of how much I love this resort. It has everything you need, long runs, gentle runs on the glacier for beginners, amazing off piste at la grave, brilliant restaurants and world class parties. This year the opening week of season played host to rise festival in association with Ibiza rocks. Festivals in the mountains are becoming more popular and the perfect way for a resort to show off their ability to host good party, there aren't many better than Deux Alpes at this. With DJ’s and bands starting the party up at the infamous Pano bar the music made its way down the mountain to the outdoor stages in town and then the after parties in the legendary bars like Smithies and Avalanche. There are also a lot of hidden treats in this resort as well from beautiful French patisseries and chocolatiers, Crepes, Diots Savoyard, tartiflette, a Michelin star restaurant in 4* Hotel Mounier, the ice rink, bowling and the funicular on the glacier that people seem to forget about. All in all this is a brilliant resort that can accommodate all holidaymakers and it is one I will defiantly be revisiting.

Fantastic snow conditions and spectacular views from the glacier. Nice wide pistes, particularly blue runs. No queues for lifts despite visiting during the school holidays. Excellent free bus service around the resort. Surprisingly quiet night life - possibly due to being late in the season. Would certainly return for guaranteed good snow at Easter.
