Great infrastructure, smaller skiing area - 03/02/2019
Overall

We really enjoyed Mayrhofen - pretty town, good bars & restaurants etc. The lifts are excellent - fast, efficient etc. The only thing we felt was less good compared to other resorts (like Les Arcs, Meribel) was the pistes didn't join up as well to make a day with lots of variety. We skied in different areas on different days but once we were in an area, we found ourselves skiing the same runs a lot.

Great holiday fabulous Maryhofen - 28/01/2019
Overall

Best slopes beautiful town and great apre ski Have been to Maryhofen a few times and it never disappoints Sport Hotel Strass was in a fabulous location nice hotel really polite waiting staff only let down was the bland repetitive food Iglu were very good but just one small thing don't make your customers change buses to and from the airport it's not a long journey and getting your cases on and off twice isn't good never had this on any other transfer

Amazing resort - perfect for groups of friends & snowboarders - 15/03/2015
Overall

I spent a fantastic week in Mayrhofen in the first week of March. I travelled with a large group of friends and we couldn’t have asked for a better week. It was snowing for the first half of the holiday and then beautiful blue bird days for the rest. The ski area is extremely varied, the Ahorn side was great while it was snowing as the runs are tree lined and the Penken side has the larger ski area. The Hintertux glacier is a 40 minute bus journey away, and is definitely worth the trip as the snow is fantastic and the mountain views are absolutely stunning. There is no shortage of apres in Mayrhofen: If you are up the Ahorn side there is the amazing White Lounge igloo bar. If you are up the Penken side you can choose from the Pilzbar or Elchbar before getting the gondola back down to town. The Icebar at the bottom of the gondola is a popular spot once the lifts have closed, but our favourite was Bruck n Stadl - there is no shortage of Austrian apres and dancing on tables here! We had the best time on and off the piste and with so much to still explore in Mayrhofen, I will definitely be back soon!

Fantastic skiing!!! - 19/02/2015
Overall

Have just finished day 5 of 6 day ski trip - all 5 of them so far in glorious sunshine. With a great ski guide from SMT called Rosie we have probably ski'd at least 20 runs going further and further out. Fantastic variety - really good reds and long easy blues for improvers. Tried two blacks although Hari Kiri closed this afternoon while the air ambulance lifted off a victim! So many runs to choose from. Snow is holding up well but if it keeps being sunny from 8am - 4pm every day and hitting 12 degrees who knows? Only downside is massive queues for main gondola in morning and getting back down and queues of varying degrees at most ski lifts.

Bottomless Powder - 11/01/2012
Overall

Just back from Mayrhofen and I can honestly say that Sunday was as good a day's skiing as I've ever had. It was like skiing in the USA with bottomless powder off piste and a nice 6 inches of powder on piste. On Monday the snow was a fraction heavier so it only made my top 5 ever powder days :) In conditions like this you can huck off anything and know you will never get near to hitting the bottom of the snow.
