Best of the bunch in the 3 Valleys...... - 21/03/2013
Overall

I've always stayed away from Meribel in the past as i thought it was too high brow for me but i loved it. Great atmosphere in the Rond Point, plenty of affordable bars, food and many shops selling ski gear, selling cheese and dried meats. The restaurant we went to had fondue which was tasty, great staff and wasn't extortionate. On the ski side, Meribel you have the best of both worlds. Easy access to Val Thorens for high altitude skiing and relaxing motorway skiing through the trees in the Meribel valley. We found loads of powder without hiking too far.... lift network is fantastic, few queues and speedy lifts. Couloirs in Courchevel are worth a peek.

Amazing views... - 21/03/2013

A great chalet, recently refurbished, modern and stylish inside. The staff were fantastic with great food and something different every night. The one night the chalet staff had off they booked a restaurant for us, fondue all the way :-) Location not a problem, a driver picked us up from the chalet and took us to the slopes. Coming back the driver picked us up from apres drinks at the 'Meribar'. Room was peaceful and quite even though the rest of our group were having fun in the living area. Recommend this place for a good base for your hols.

The best skiing in the 3 Valleys is in Méribel - 21/03/2013
Overall

I usually like livelier resorts than Méribel, but now it has a pretty cool Folie Douce and the Rond point offers a good deck for sunny aprés action. Each day I watched as the crowds jumped on the Tournettes 1 or the Saulire Express and raced off to the 2 neighbouring Vallees of St Bon (Courchevel) or Belleville (Val Thorens) which suited me just fine because I found the best off-piste was on the North Facing slopes between Tournettes 2 and the Platieres lifts in the Méribel Valley. I did loop after loop in the deep untouched and then heard stories back at my chalet about how it was sooo cold at the top of VT. Well, don't go there! Top tip. Chez Kiki is not just a cracking Steak House for your Chalet Host night off but it has a pub downstairs favoured by the Seasonaires. It has the cheapest beer jugs in Méribel. If you have the energy on Monday night go from Kiki to Les Petit Onions for the best live band night of the week. Your chalet hosts will probably be there.

Lovely sunny deck - 21/03/2013

The recent refurb on this chalet puts it ahead of its neighbours Les Arolles Bleu and Pheobe. Great minibus service to and from the slopes. Easy 10 min walk to town for aprés dinner. Use the supplier rental delivery service — they also pick up so you just leave your kit in the Ski room when you depart. The French TV in the lounge showed all the 6 Nations matches. Top tip Room 3 is the largest but rooms 5 and 6 have very cool skylights in the bathrooms. Go for 5 as 6 is above the lounge and can hear noise.

Parks, parks and more parks - 21/11/2012
Overall

Meribel sits in the heart of the Three Valleys. I spent 4 seasons there and go back on holiday there every year. For anyone into their freestyle ski or snowboarding this is the place to go to. Meribel itself is now host to one of Europe's top snowboard parks, the DC Area 43 Park. If that's not enough you have the Moonpark in Meribel, Val Thorens Park, Les Menuires Park, Rail Park in Courchevel and beginner park in Courchevel. Amazing! The apres and nightlife in Meribel is great. It begins with dancing on the tables with Toffee Vodka at the Rond Point carries on with crowd surfing to live Music in Le Pub and ends for those that are still standing with a late night boogy in Dicks Tea Bar. I highly recommend this resort to anyone!
