The village of Montgenevre is small, but the ski area is bigger than most people expect. As you can ski the whole Via Lattea from Montgenevre, you can ski France and Italy in one holiday! There's not much aprés so is great for families or those looking for a more civilised time. I would recommend stopping for a pizza at Caesar's in Montgenevre whilst you're there, and definitely try a bombardino on the mountain once you get into Italy!

Just spent a week here - good snow conditions, lovely sunny weather and some lovely long runs. Its great for beginners and intermediates, a varied selection of runs. Some chair lifts a bit slow. Only 2 restaurants on mountains so best to eat in village, though even within throwing distance of Italy not many pasta places! Prices are getting expensive too. If you have a child under five and you put them in the Piou Piou club expect them to be the only English child there - can be a bit daunting as our child found out and the staff do not speak great English either. If you really want to practise your French this is the place to do it. Also be warned if you go on the Monty Express (Luge Monorail - which is great fun) and your child is under 7 they do not have to pay, but the card they issue with gets swiped for both of you and takes off 2 goes. Tried to get our Rep to sort it out but did not make much of an effort. Cost 56 Euros for 10 adult goes and only had 5. Would definitely go back though as it is a quiet resort Monday-Friday (weekends are for the locals).

Montgenevre is a fantastic place to ski for all levels of skiing. Hotels and lifts are very convenient to get to. It is a small quiet village with everything you need. This was my first visit but will be going back again.

We had a brilliant week. There was Fab snow, a ski in/out chalet close to main lift. Some of runs rather optimistically graded red/black! This is a quiet resort - not for those wanting lots of nightlife. French signage is a dream compared to the neighboring Italian villages!
