Little resort big welcome - 14/03/2022
Overall

Niederau is a small resort with an amazing welcome Snow conditions were great, although this was as late as I would want to go, ski school gave our adult beginner a firm foundation of skills Not all the bars were open (just ending covid restrictions) but those that were welcomed us with open arms. Reasonable price food and drink Good ski bus service to Auffach and access to the larger area of the ski jewel Definitely one to return to

Quite small resort with some great runs - 14/02/2022
Overall

There are enough runs here for an intermediate skier to spend the day. Two very good red runs and two black runs with the latter having great views over the Tirol. I would say the blacks here are more a French standard red but are still challenging and fun. For beginners there are a couple of blue runs at the top which you can access through the gondola but beginners would then need to return by the gondola as the red down to the town would be a bit of a challenge. For more extensive skiing you need to head out on the regular bus service to Auffach which take 20 mins. From there you have access into Alpback and a great many more runs. We got our ski legs back at Niederau for the day and made use of the excellent restaurant at the top of the gondola. The following day heading out to Auffach. We had a bit of a white out day mid week with light snow and low cloud and so decided to stay in Niederau which was a good call at the time as the ski area was empty and we had the runs to ourselves. If you have had enough of French concrete and fancy some Austrian charm and food then you cannot go wrong with this resort. There are several apres ski bars that are popular at the end of the day and close to the gondola. We stayed at The Austria, a good family hotel with easy access to the slopes and bust stop. It also has a small pool and sauna. The ski hire shop is accessible from the hotel through the basement and is very convenient.

Great for family and learner - 15/03/2019

It's my first visit to Niederau staying at Harfenwirt (Harmony) Hotel. Niederau is small skiing resort with 2 blues, 4 reds and 3 black approx. If you are beginners then best to stay at the bottom of the cable cart where the nursery slopes are. However, the ski pass will allow you to use the other Auffach and Inneralpbach areas but you need a 20 mins bus hop away. There are a few bars and restaurants there in Niederau. Also a Spar convenient store.

Iglu ski were by far the best priced, most organised and helpful resort out there. Connections were well planned, staff were very helpful and a snowboard learners package with equipment and passes was arranged with no hiccups. The option of après activites were clearly presented every night at reasonable prices, and the resort surpassed expectation. The ski school chosen were of good reputation and taught to varied levels. Local knowledge was passed onto holiday groups, along side helpful tips. Overall we enjoyed a fantatic well budgeted week snowboarding with iglu. It's worth mentioning as we that at pre booking stage their well knowledged staff will take hood care of you matching you to the best options available. We were very happy with the service we received.

Returned from a week in Neiderau 23rd January 2010. I think this is definitely a resort for either beginners or people who would like to improve their technique and do not require a lot of variety (although Ski Welt with about 270 Km of Pistes is only 5Km away!). SKI PASSES - The locals do not advertise the following 2 ski passes but they are available: All star Austria Pass - which gives you access to most of Austrian Ski resorts which are all within range, its about 60 Euros more than the local one and will definitely keep you busy. Ski Welt pass (270Km of Pistes), this area can be accessed from Hoftgarden just 5Km away. APRES SKI: There are about 4 Apres ski bars, the most friendly we found to be dome at the bottom of one of the nursery slopes (the name escapes me) near O’mallys, run by a lovely Dutch couple. ACCOMODATION: We stayed in the Pension Dianne, a fantastic Hotel with excellent value for money and excellent Austrian cuisine. It is very clean throughout and has a no smoking bar and a very friendly and interesting owner. The resort was very quiet, so quiet in fact there was only 8 people in the hotel!
