Stayed here 28th Jan for a week. Everything about this hotel warmed to me the longer I was there. On first arriving I was a little disappointed as it was like any other low to mid budget hotel I had been to and at around 550 h/b on the upper end of the scale money wise. Small rooms without a balcony on one side and slightly larger with balcony rooms on the other. It is well worth upgrading, as I did for 30 pounds, to ensure a balcony room as these are the ones with the views.
The bar area on first impressions held no appeal to me but come après there was always a good atmosphere, the open fire was lit and the drink was very good value during the 2 hour happy hour, very welcome as I didn't find Tignes to be any cheaper than Val'd on the whole.
The standard of food is excellent although if you are a food philistine like me it won't be up your street. Very healthy and not a chip in sight.
The reason this place grew on me was the fantastic location for getting up the mountain in the morning and above all the staff who were without exception the nicest, most obliging, pleasant, good looking people I have ever met.
