The Das Alpenhaus Hotel has that 'grand hotel' sort of feel. An impressive building and helpful staff, it's got a lot of charm without having to try too hard. But the big draw is it's extensive spa and wellness area. A large indoor pool with panoramic views as well as two hot whirlpools to relax in. The sauna area is nude, but you can wear a towel to cover up. You have a long list of rooms to enjoy with 3 saunas, steam baths, a laconium, ice igloo and Kneipp foot bath as well as the relaxation room, massage rooms and even a yoga room. The hotel prides itself on its wellness facilities and the idea of wellness of mind, so it is a big part of the hotel.
The Das Alpenhaus lobby bar is supposedly styled on a 'London bar' which seems to mean a wrap around, traditional island bar with some pretty comfy bar stools surrounding it. It's a great area of the hotel, the social hub if you like. Though be warned there is a smokers lounge, as this is still the norm in Austria. To get to the slopes it's a 9-10 minute walk or there is a local bus that stops nearby.
