This family friendly resort is best suited for intermediate skiers and snowboarders although it does cater for beginners and advanced skiers.
A two stage gondola or chairlifts a little outside the village, take skiers up to the start of the extensive slopes in the area and are linked with Grossarl's pistes in the valley over. The Gipfelbahn-Fulseck also takes skiers to the highest point in the area where there are stunning views of Grossglockner and Dachstein.
25 km of pistes are blues which are ideal for families and beginners with several practice zones in the valley and the separate Fischbacherwiese practice lift near the entrance of the village. There is also a mixture of wide open slopes above treeline and pistes through the trees which are both ideal for beginners and intermediates.
Dorfgastein has 25km of cross country trails as well as a fun snow park for snowboarders, sorry skiers you're not allowed.

Dorfgastein is generally snow sure with its lifts reaching altitudes as high as 2033m. Plus, 96km of its runs are covered with snow cannons. Skiers can ski back down into the village in normal snow conditions.
