Ski Holidays in Fugen, Austria
Fugen is a small ski resort in the Zillertal ski area in Austria. Elevating up to 2050m, the ski resort is located at the entrance of Zillertal. Fugen village has direct access to 17 km of individual pistes served by 9 ski lifts.
Winter-sports enthusiasts enjoy Zillertal’s vast selection of well-groomed pistes. Skiers and snowboarders also have access to surrounding resorts such as Hippach, Mayrhofen, Hintertux and Finkenberg with a full area lift pass.
Fugen is a family friendly resort with a laid back atmosphere and lots of activities off the slopes. The museum is great for history lovers who would like find out more about local traditions and attractions.

Snow Conditions in Fugen
With lots of ski slopes over 2000m across the Zillertal ski area, there is fantastic snow conditions throughout the season. The Hintertux glacier is even open during the summer with skiing up to 3250m.
An extensive and up-to-date snowmaking system with over 100 snow cannons from the top to the bottom of the valley guarantees reliable snow conditions during the whole season, even at the beginners' slope below the base station.
Skiing in Fugen
Fugen ski resort is particularly best for beginners and families. Children will enjoy learning to ski with the two magic carpet ski lifts and a dedicated kid’s area with indoor activities including PlayStation, table football and a climbing wall.
There are three ski schools in resort which cater for all level of skiers, from new to ski to experienced skiers looking to brush up their techniques.
Fugan is located within the larger Zillertal ski area giving skiers and snowboarders access to 487 km of terrain. The fabulous deep snow slopes at the Geolsalm and the 7 km downhill run to Fügen will delight even the most expert skier.
Apres ski, restaurants and other activities in Fugen
It is not only fantastic ski slopes that make a skiing resort great, the excellently appointed restaurants with fine cuisine, rustic ski lodges and bars within the Spieljoch Area will help you fall in love with this resort.
The snow bar ‘Onkeljoch’ at the highest point of the ski area is a fantastic meeting place après lovers. With numerous huts located on the mountain, skiers are never too far away from a bar or restaurant.
Other snow sport activities include winter hiking, toboggan runs, an ice rink and cross-country skiing trails. If you are looking to relax after a day carving the slopes you can treat yourself to the Erlebnistherme Zillertal spa and sauna. Both adults and children can enjoy the two large slides and play area with water activities for the whole family.
Transfer time in Fugen
There are three airports surrounding the Fugen ski resort the closest being Innsbruck which is about 50 km away from the resort. Other airports include Salzburg and Munich which are slightly further afield.
