NAUDERS, AUSTRIA
Ski holidays in Nauders, Austria
A typical Tyrolean-feel resort, Nauders is located near to where Austria meets Italy and Switzerland. The town itself it medieval style, with cobblestone streets, churches and castles.
A 2 minute bus ride gets you to the Austrian slopes in Bergkastel, or within 10 minutes you can be skiing in the Italian Schnöneben - the whole area boasting 120km of slopes. The vast amount of high-altitude skiing makes for a great ski area for intermediate skiers, with lots of long, winding reds. Most of the skiing is on the Austrian side, but be sure to head over to Schnöneben for some scenic runs down to Lake Resia.
The ski area is also great for beginners, a whole park dedicated to children and first-time-skiers to help find your feet. With magic carpets, gentle nursery slopes, and even a practice chairlift, it’s a great area to build your confidence.
Snowboarders enjoy this ski area for its space - being more under-the-radar than many other resorts means the slopes are much quieter. There’s also the Gold Park, which is great for learning and perfecting tricks.
And Nauders isn’t just great for skiing and snowboarding - there are a whole host of other activities on offer which include sledding down an 8km-long toboggan track, an ice skating disco in front of the castle, or snowshoeing.
