Chalet Hotel Turquoise, Belle Plagne, France
As part of an exculsive collection to Iglu Ski, Chalet Hotel Turquoise offers free ski guiding and coaching with fully qualified ski and snowboard instructors. Various sessions run throughout the week to introduce you to the ski area and improve your technique along the way. Skiers and snowboarders wishing to take part need to be over 18 (or 12 in school holidays) and be good enough to ski down blue and red pistes. You can sign up for the sessions at the chalet on your first day in resort.
The Chalet Hotel Turquoise is in a perfect location as it sits on the gentle Belle Plagne piste meaning skiing from and to the door could not be easier. And when your legs demand a rest, pull up at the south-facing sun terrace for a spot of lunch or some après-ski refreshment. Since taking the Turquoise over, there has been an extensive refurbishment with brand new furniture, comfy beds, furnishings and layout changes in the bar and bedrooms. The open plan bar and dining area provide a great après atmosphere as you relive your day's highlights over a well-earned drink. Alternatively, grab your glass and head out to the terrace to enjoy the fresh mountain air and fantastic views.
You can explore more of this sprawling resort on foot in the evenings by taking a stroll up the piste to the heart of Belle Plagne (200m away) with its great choice of restaurants, bars and shops. Or for even more choice, hop on the cable car (also 200m away) to Plagne Bellecôte, it runs right up until midnight.
The majority of rooms have twin or double beds with an additional sofa bed that is suitable for adults or children. There is also a small selection of family rooms sleeping up to five people. Each bedroom is light and airy with a small balcony that provides great views of the slopes. This hotel really couldn’t be more convenient and coupled with great hospitality, it really is the perfect base from which to explore the huge, 425km Paradiski ski area.

Chalet Hotel Turquoise Reviews
We were a party of four older skiers and so the ski in/out was a real hit. It’s a bit of a yomp to the hotel from the bus but the luggage gets taken for you so no problems there. The hotel is fairly basic but has a bar, boot room with warmers and coffee machine available all day. The rooms are a good size with comfy beds and en-suite facilities. Breakfast is a buffet for cold stuff but you can also have a full English. Afternoon tea is very welcoming with fresh bread, preserves and delicious cakes. Evening meals were absolutely brilliant when we were there. With a choice of two mains. Quality was matched by quantity and the complimentary wine was very welcome! The skiing is both varied and extensive and caters for all abilities with some fantastic mountain restaurants and bars. So, all good so far. Now the staff: excellent without exception. Would we return? Well, we have just booked for next year!

The hotel is in a fantastic location- right on the slopes in Belle Plagne, which is in an ideal part of the resort- high up, and towards Les Arcs, so it is easy for keen skiers to reach both resorts. La Plagne is brilliant, with a great variety of runs, we had a joint pass, but only went to Les Arcs one day. We had lovely sunshine, but it hadn't snowed for a week or two- pistes well maintained, and conditions quite good, a bit icy in places. Hotel was basic, but staff very friendly and helpful. Food was very good, and the hotel was so convenient, we had lunch there a few times. Ski hire and maintenance are available on site. This hotel caters for young people but there was only one school party that week and the majority were adults. We had a room which could sleep 4, but for 2 was spacious enough and had a good bathroom & balcony- but the walls were a bit thin. The bar area was cosy, and the tables in the bar and dining area encouraged people to mix and chat, and there was a great friendly atmosphere. For the price it was good value for money. There were shops, including a small supermarket, and bars with live music within 5 mins walk- also in other parts of the resort, accessible during skiing, or by bus. Plenty of restaurants on the pistes, though not cheap.
