The historic Hotel de la Poste opened as a postal inn in 1835 and has been run by the same family, the Manaigos, ever since. Oozing old-world elegance, the hotel is decorated in classic mountain style and offers courteous and attentive service that recalls a bygone age. The beautiful guest rooms are individually decorated with parquet floors, wood panelling and attractive rugs, and many offer balconies with spectacular views of the mountains. The delightful wood-adorned bar is a memorable meeting point for après-ski cocktails, and turns into a restaurant both at lunch and dinner, while the formal, chandelier-hung restaurant provides an even grander setting for breakfast and lunch and dinner, too. Skiers can keep their skis in the hotel's storage room and catch the regular ski buses, which stop outside and serve the nearest lifts. The hotel is also conveniently located for enjoying Cortina's restaurants, bars and boutiques, which are all on the doorstep.
