Fleischer’s Hotel, Voss, Norway

The hotel is much better than the TripAdvisor reviews suggest. It has wonderful views, is very close to the gondola, and serves a varied, high‑quality breakfast in a dining hall with stunning views. Evening meals are not as good; however, there are plenty of options in Voss. The rooms are spacious enough and very clean, and all staff are helpful and professional. The hotel could improve its maintenance, for example by reinstalling fridges and safes in the rooms.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! It is very scenic and the staff are quite reasonable - however, your belongings are not safe and even worse management don't even care. My precious Russian fur hat (a gift from my husband and taken on every skiing trip) was stolen from a locked bedroom. I urgently raised concerns with the staff, but yet management have still to get back to me. I understand another gentleman has 'lost' his expensive sunglasses. There is obviously a real issue here and risk to personal possessions, but where is the customer service and apologies for the loss? It is a pity as I was scoping a further skiing trip for a larger party - it won't be here, and I will be advising others to stay away I travelled with Crystal and they recommended this hotel - I will suggest they change their rating

Fantastic location and the staff are very nice and accommodating. They make the issue less problematic. The area is beautiful and very easy to reach from Bergen. The hotel looks great from the outside and is very historic but that's the issue. The hotel is well worn, quite dark, rooms are tired and the main dining room is not a pleasant eating room. The pool is fine. Hot tub and sauna are small. We had a connecting room on the top floor and could hear the people next door very clearly. It's generally noisy from outside road and train. As a location for skiing it's perfect.

It would have been better. We have had no hot water today. The hotel blamed the lack of guests! You should be able to get instant hot water regardless of number of guests. They obviously are aware of the problem and have been for years but have chosen not to fix it. No apology, no compensation. Do not eat book the pizza buffet. It is a joke. No salad, no extras. Five pizzas (which ran out) for the whole of the restaurant. Really poor. Breakfast cold.

Looks like a castle on the outside and has loads of charm and character. Room smelt a bit musty, average bed but did have a bar fridge. Breakfast hot food was barely warm but there were plenty of other options. The place felt like a Swedish chalet. Downstairs was a heated pool and spa area which looked like it was straight out of a Wes Anderson movie, very cool. Lots of old era furnished rooms around the lobby where you could have tea.
