Grandvalira is a ski paradise in Andorra made up of 210 km of pistes across 6 ski villages. It is the largest linked ski area in the Pyrenees and Southern Europe. The main resorts in this area are Soldeu, El Tarter and Pas de la Casa. Grandvalira is one of the most underrated ski areas in region, boasting a vast domain of varied terrain linked together by an extensive lift system.

Ski resorts in Grandvalira
The 6 ski villages have something for everyone. Families will enjoy the specially designed kids snow circuit (Bababoum circus) and other leisure facilities in El Tarter. There are some fantastic value ski accommodations here with a handful of bars and restaurants in the village.
1.5 km up the road is Soldeu, one of the most popular ski resorts in Andorra. Soldeu sits in the heart of Grandvalira giving it fantastic access to the neighbouring ski resorts (it’s like the Meribel of the 3 Valleys). The entrance to the main gondola station is located in the middle of the bustling high street with many of the ski accommodations a stone’s throw away.
Pas de la Casa is the party town of Grandvalira and an excellent choice for groups looking for the best après and nightlife. There is an abundance of apartments and good value hotels perfect for a group ski holiday. Set at 2050m Pas de la Casa has an exceptional snow record and a brilliant long ski runs.
Skiing in Grandvalira
The Grandvalira ski area is bigger and better than many people think. Millions of Euros have been spent on improving the ski infrastructure in recent years including upgrading lifts and installing more snow cannons across the region. The resort is now capable of handling over 100, 000 skiers per hour and 65% of the ski area can be covered in artificial snow if needed.
With modern lift systems and quality ski accommodations and leisure facilities, Grandvalira now gives our favourite ski resorts in the Alps a run for their money. Skiers and snowboarders return to Grandvalira year after year because of its friendly atmosphere, quality ski areas and excellent value for money.
The ski area has a varied mix of ski runs; there are approximately 65 green and blue ski pistes across Grandvalira giving beginner skiers plenty of opportunities to progress. Then there are about 55 red and black runs for intermediate and expert skiers to enjoy. Proficient skiers and snowboarders will enjoy the wide expanse of the Grandvalira area where you can clock up the ski miles during your stay in Andorra.
The mountain landscapes are stunning and there are beautiful tree lined ski runs at El Tarter and Soldeu.
