Upgrade to iconic gondola in top French resort
The Chenus gondola line in Courchevel was a 4-person bubble (see pic below) until the end of the 2024-25 season, but will become a slick 10-person lift (see top pic).
Its speed will also increase from 3.7 metres per second to 5 metres per second, trimming more than 2 minutes off the ascent. The carrying capacity will also double, thanks to more gondolas on the line.

Major cross-border mountain tunnel finally opens
The 12.9km engineering feat connects the Savoie region in France with Bardonecchia, in the Piedmont area of Italy.

Pair walk to French resort in ski boots
Matt Brinkley and Reuben Gray’s journey took 45 days and covered more than 800 miles, and they also had skis attached to their books for the duration.
They were welcomed at the resort by friends and family, with plenty of live music and free drinks.
The duo completed the challenge to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support and Snow Camp - a charity which uses snow sports to help young people facing adversity.
