Hotel Ramsauerhof, Ramsau im Zillertal, Austria

This hotel is a hidden gem for serious skiers. Fantastic family run hotel which gives access to all the Zillertal Valley areas, a door to door bus service from hotel to Mayrhofen, and The Zillertal Arena, ,and by train (8oom away ) to The Hintertux Glacier and Kaltenbach. Fantastic region. Hotel is spotless, food is great and staff are brilliant, can't do enough. As others have said a particular mention for Jorge, Karen and Marie

What stood out most was the attitude from staff. Interactions felt consistently dismissive and, at times, openly rude. When asking a simple question about wine pricing, we were told the server was “not there to do maths”. This set the tone for the stay. We ultimately avoided eating in the hotel to minimise interaction, which is not what you expect when paying for a half-board ski holiday. Management response was rude and condescending did nothing to reassure us and instead reinforced the feeling that guest concerns were an inconvenience. The hotel is falsely advertised by Inghams as being in Mayrhofen it is not. Public transport stops around 8pm, meaning expensive taxis are unavoidable. The main road outside is extremely noisy, the outside of the hotel smells strongly of fish, and the broken shower seal flooded the bathroom. Facilities were poor – tiny, overcrowded saunas which was not available on arrival day, breakfast starting at the same time as first lifts, and the restaurant closing at 9pm (not advertised). Inghams resort support was very limited when issues were raised and no meaningful resolution was offered. Overall: poorly represented location, disappointing facilities, and service that made us feel like an inconvenience rather than guests.

What a gem of a hotel sitting in a valley, near a river, on a skibus route and a train line. Great access to the slopes. Also great walk along river, lots of supermarkets and shops and restuaranrs close by. Hotel is lovely, great, friendly, knowledgeable staff, rooms clean, well maintained and spacious. Special mention to George, Karen and Marie who were so lovely. Would recommend 100%.

We stayed there for a ski trip booked with Crystal, luckily for us we had a family room (306) with a lobby which meant that we had acres of space for our ski bags and clothes and as a consequence we were never cramped for space. The restaurant gives three good choices of evening meal, all of which were excellent. Breakfast is the same every day which does become a bit repetitive but is fresh and good quality. The two waiting staff could not have gone further to help each day. You have to eat out Friday & Saturday and quite a lot of the hotel ended up in the same restaurant (Des-Iss) down the road, which does excellent pizzas. It's an excellent location with a bus stop outside the front door to get you to Mayrhofen, Kaltenbach and the Zillertal Arena ski areas. Highly recommended
