Hotel Amadeus - Serfaus, Austria
The 4-star Hotel Amadeus in Serfaus offers a relaxed, friendly base for a week’s skiing in Austria.
On the outside, it’s typically Austrian – a white exterior dotted with dark-wood balconies and a sharp, vaulted roof. On the inside, the rooms are clean, simple and bright, each with Austrian twin beds and modern bathrooms. Also, if you’re lucky, when you return for the evening you may find a skilfully sculpted towel animal waiting for you.
They’re well catered for non-skiers and kids too, with an indoor pool and wellness area that includes a Finnish sauna, steam room and relaxation room. If your little one isn’t much of a water baby, there’s also a kids’ playroom onsite, with a playhouse, arts and crafts corner and a TV – more than enough to keep them occupied.
In terms of getting to the slopes, the lifts are a short uphill walk from the hotel, meaning the mountains are never too far away.

Austrian twin beds
Austrian twin beds are very common in Central Europe. They’re simply one large bed frame containing two single mattresses, both with separate duvets and linen sets, that cannot be separated. Separate twin beds are less common and can often be head-to-head beds, rather than side by side, if they are available.
