Spread over a complex of facilities, cabins and a hotel, the Kuusamon Tropiikki’s got all the ingredients for a fun-filled family trip. We’re talking a tropical-themed swimming pool with a kids’ zone, a bowling alley and an adventure park with climbing frames and a gaming lounge. When it’s time to unwind, the whole gang can head to the spa and relax in the sauna and the steam room, then it’s into O’Leary’s sports bar to swap ski stories over a tipple.
Location-wise, you’re perfectly placed to soak up Finland’s snow-globe scenery. The hotel’s in a super peaceful spot right next to a lake, and there’re snowy pine trees every way you look. The slopes are a 20-minute drive away over in Ruka, and there’s a free ski bus that’ll drop you off and pick you up every day, so all you have to do is sit back and watch the wintery wilderness go by out the window.
When it comes to rooms, you can pick between a family room in the main hotel or a fully equipped apartment in the annexe, complete with a sauna, a huge balcony and a kitchenette if you fancy whipping up a quick dish.
