The winter season is the same as Europe, from December to April.
Ski areas in Russia are diverse, but recommended more for intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders because of the steep areas and high altitude.
Krasnaya Polyana (Sochi) is the leading ski resort in Russia. Huge improvements have been made to Sochi’s ski resort infrastructure over the past years, but it is still not up to the standards we expect in other European resorts. This combined with visa costs, crime levels and flight schedules will make the destination difficult to choose over other popular resorts.
