Best Apres Ski Bars and Nightlife Hotspots in Cervinia

Cervinia is in the middle ground when it comes to après liveliness

This pretty Italian ski resort is a surefire choice for high altitude, snow-sure skiing - with the magnificent Matterhorn (the Toblerone mountain!) looming over your every turn.

Cervinia is relatively small, and in the summer it’s certainly quite quiet - but the ski season brings with it plenty of energy.

There’s a decent selection of bars and nightclubs to spend your evenings, although it doesn’t match the wildness of party resorts like Val Thorens or St Anton - in fact, it’s mainly the weekends when things get properly lively.

The purpose-built resort is popular with Brits, with both an English- and Welsh-themed pub among its offerings - as well as other bars and nightclubs.

The best bar for mountain partying

  • LOVE

This is the main choice for partying on the slopes with live DJs and outdoor dancing. A restaurant during the day, it brings the après ski fun every day from 2pm to 5pm. Located halfway down the Blue 5 slope (just down from the Cretaz lift), this place has a lovely sun terrace which can get quite lively.

It’s arguably got a bit of a cringey name, but definitely don’t be put off! Jump out your skis and walk straight in, where you’ll find regular live DJs, lots of great music, and even sometimes a live saxophonist to bring the vibes - all the while with sensational sweeping views of the valley below.

The best bars for some lively après

  • Yeti Bar
  • Ymeletrob
  • Lino's Bar

The Yeti Bar can easily be found opposite the nursery slope, near the bottom of the Cretaz chairlift. It’s a regular stop off for many people, with a daily happy hour quite early on. It also shows live sports, while often screening ski and snowboard films on its big TV.

Ymeletrob, meanwhile, is a strange one - and not just because of its name. On first thoughts, you might think it’s simply a very relaxed champagne bar. Indeed, you can get some lovely champagne or cocktails - but it all changes past 10pm. The bar turns into a bit of a party venue, with the energy instantly ramping up.

Lino’s Bar is also a Cervinia après institution. You can find it right next to Cervinia’s gorgeous natural ice rink (which people go ice skating on) and it has a really friendly atmosphere. There’s also live music on Sundays, while you can munch on the lovely pizza it serves every day. It’s run by father-and-son duo, Lino and Damien.

Best bars for live music

  • Après Ski Bar
  • Thistles Pub

The imaginatively named Après Ski Bar is a popular choice, thanks to its great accessibility. It’s perched on the main run back into Cervinia, and is part of the Hotel Principe delle Nevi. It’s known for its lovely drinks, as well as regular live DJ sets and live gigs. It also shows big screen ski movies from time to time, too.

Meanwhile, the Thistles Pub is a top choice for live music. Located inside the Dragon Hotel, it’s always busy, and has regular music. There’s also a huge terrace outdoors to enjoy nice weather in.

The best nightclubs for partying ‘til the early hours

  • Bianconiglio
  • Sound Club

Clubbing in Cervinia is certainly an option. Try out Bianconiglio, a cool club which is spread over a couple of floors, with music including international dance, R&B, and house music.

The number one destination though would be the Sound Club, which is the main place for a dance. You can find it just yards from the high street. There’s also a side bit of the club where you’ll find tables and chairs, as well as pool tables to play on.

Best bar for live sport and craft beer

  • Yeti Bar

The Yeti Bar is back for its second mention - its huge TV screen means that any of the big matches are likely to be shown here. You can also enjoy the game with a pint of the local beer, “4478”. It’s made nearby, and its name refers to the height in metres of the Matterhorn.

Best English pub-style place

  • Thistles Pub

Decorated just like an English pub (although somewhat ironically named after the Scottish national flower), head here if you’re missing the home delights of a nice local. You can find regular live music here, and there’s also a lovely sun terrace outside for when the weather is nice.

Best karaoke bar

  • Hotel Dragon Bar

This lively hotel bar is a great place to visit. It does a range of activities - including pub quizzes, sports days - and of course, they’ll let you come up and have a sing along too.

It's located in the Hotel Dragon, which is conveniently located at the bottom of the main slope back into town. It’s very informal: no fancy layups or expensive food - just pure fun.

Best karaoke bar

  • INSIDE Bar (Val Claret)

This place has a nice south-facing terrace and is open until 2am every day. Located in the centre of Val Claret, it’s a good place to note down if you ever have some karaoke cravings.

Best bar for something a bit more relaxed

  • La Champagnerie du Cervin

If you want a really nice experience, then head to La Champagnerie du Cervin, which is found in the posh Hotel Punta Maquignaz. It serves plenty of Champagne, as well as lovely Italian wine, cocktails, and nice snacks. It’s a really relaxing atmosphere to rest your legs after a hard day at work.

Aside from this, you shouldn’t struggle to find cheaper choices for a gentle sit down. While many of the venues mentioned above in this blog specialise in certain things, all of them (bar maybe the nightclubs!) will have areas where you can kick back and relax.

Where to stay if you want to be near Cervinia's après hotspots

Most of the livelier places listed above are found in or near the town centre - and if you’re planning to stay up late, then you might as well get a room nearby.

If this is the case then try the reliable Hotel Furggen or Hotel Compagnoni. Another popular choice would include the Edelweiss Hotel, while you might want to splash out a bit on the lovely White Angel Hotel.

There are also apartments if you’re after something a bit cheaper.
