Each winter, the Iglu Ski team visit resorts across Europe in December to visit new accommodations and get a first-hand look at the start of season conditions. This season we are extremely lucky to have excellent early snow and this can’t be said more than in Val d’Isere. Even with regular snowfalls over the past 6 weeks, in the last 7 days there has been nearly 200 cm of snowfall in resort and another 100 cm is in the forecast over the next 9 days! The snow base on the top slopes is at a healthy 175 cm and 96 cm in the village at 1800m.
Val d’Isere is one of Iglu Ski’s top selling resorts, only to be ‘out sold’ by its neighbour, Tignes. The consistent snow falls, huge range of accommodations and excellent ski area brings thousands of skiers and snowboarders to Espace Killy season after season. And with perfect snow conditions like this, why would we not recommend Val d’Isere or Tignes for a last minute ski holiday.
As we attempt to cover as much of the 300 km of piste as we can, take a look at the epic conditions we’ve encountered this week in Val d’Isere
