Boarded and skied in Verbier for the last 5 years. It is a great place for beginners and plenty for experts alike. There’s good off piste when there's fresh powder and a run from Mont Fort, not for the faint hearted, when snow is hard! Good for families - free ski bus to nursery slopes. Magic carpet on nursery slope and easy t-bar (cheap lift pass for this too). Good snow cover from December through to late April. We've skied North America and Europe and Verbier is better for us than North America as a family. You have just GOT to do the 10km toboggan run from Savoleyres to La Tzoumaz. Fantastic! Would give it 10 out of 10 - but it is pretty expensive in resort. A roast chicken coast me £12! Supermarkets are pretty good value - live off pasta and pizza!!

Homely Traditional Chalet - 11/04/2011
Overall

The Chalet has fairly small rustic rooms, but its not really a problem. We were in the double on the living floor and it was a little smaller then the other rooms. It could probably have done with a new mattress but after very hard skiing all day, I didn’t have any bother sleeping... It is a traditional chalet so its all wood and it does creak and the noise does travel, we were luck enough to have a good bunch of people and its wasn’t a problem. Easy to get to from the bus stop and lifts, and short walk into the town. There are a small number of steps up to the chalet and you have to carry your bags and skis, so be warned for those that are not too fit. All in all the chalet was great, hostess was polite and friendly and accommodating. The resort is amazing and the skinning can be as hard as you want it to be...some amazing trail routes....

Very Verbier - 20/04/2013
Overall

Stayed at Chalet Hotel Montpelier last week. Great week, very well run hotel, friendly helpful staff. It snowed every night and some days but still had 4 sunny days - very lucky so late in the season - and had a wonderful time. But would have been unaffordable without chalet board thanks to the exchange rate. For £20+pp there are huge delicious pizzas, comfortable seats and great service at La Vache (one of the celebrity owners, Lawrence Dallalio, was at the next table). Or ski down to Carrefour, eat and drink on the sun terrace (picture attached) and take the bus home. Cheapest lunch option now soup or a sandwich for around £10 eg at Cabine de MontFort with wonderful views and fruit tarts to help you recover from the moguls at the top of the black run. Lift pass coming up to £300 so make sure you get a 2for1 deal. Outrageous to have to take T-Bars and button lifts (to ski full 4 Vallees) at that price. In other respects a very smart resort. Enjoyed others' apres ski stories: during the traditional new year celebration in the central square one girl slipped on the frozen lake of champagne and another was accidentally hit over the head with a bottle of Dom Perignon. Very Verbier.

Hotel de Verbier - 12/01/2015
Overall

Hotel de Verbier Very noisy with late night party goers on the street 1am to 3am . We were disturbed most nights - Friday night was horrific !! Hotel staff were fantastic.
