Carpe Solem Kapoom - Kaprun, Austria
Talk about eye-catching, the Kapoom in Kaprun doesn’t do colour-popping, wacky design features by half-measures. Its statement look and feel won’t be for everyone, but if you’re up for a fun place with bold decor, then this place is a goer.
The twin rooms here can take up to four of you, and they come with balconies – so you can wake up to that fresh mountain air. After fuelling up on whatever takes your fancy at the breakfast buffet, gear up in the boot room and head for the mountain. The Lechnerberg drag lift is within walking distance, good for those wanting to practice on a short blue run. If you’re ready and raring to explore the wider ski area, hop on the ski bus for a few minutes to the Maiskogel gondola.
Once you’re all skied out, enjoy some relaxing pool and spa time back at the hotel – or maybe you’ll make a beeline to the bar for a few bevs before your evening meal. This’ll also be a buffet, and there’s a range of Austrian specialities as well as international classics on the menu. Finish the day with a wander into Kaprun village, or grab an early one and recharge for the next day’s session on the slopes.
