One of Zell am See’s standout stays, this family-run pick packs in plenty of perks. First up on the facilities front there’s an excellent spa, with a sauna, steam room and menu of tempting treatments – just the thing for post-ski relaxation. And then there’s the heated outdoor pool, where you can soak in the warm water with views of snowy peaks all around.
The building itself is on the edge of town, so it’s good if you prefer more peaceful surroundings. As for looks, think modern alpine style, with log-burning fires and chairs that hang from the ceiling in the lobby and bar, and wood-panelled walls, cow print benches and tartan blankets in the bedrooms.
Days start with a hot and cold buffet breakfast, and in the evening you’ve got 6-course meals where you'll tuck into seasonal, regional classics. Then after you’ve eaten, round off the day Austrian-style with a schnapps in the bar. Or to switch things up, check out the games room and go head-to-head with a game table football or table tennis.
