Alcott hoping for more Olympic support after recent UK snow

Alcott hoping for more Olympic support after recent UK snow Chemmy Alcott has taken a positive out of the recent icy weather that has gripped the UK as it may have spiced up people's interest in the 2010 Winter Olympics, which begin next month in Vancouver.

Britain's top female skier has been busy in her preparations for the event in Canada having competed in locations including Val D'Isere and Are during her World Cup schedule.

Alcott will first hit the slopes in her efforts to leave Canada with a medal for the super combined event on February 14th and hopes to be supported by a strong UK contingent, particularly after the recent snow experienced.

She told Press Association Sport: "It's really good for us, with the Olympics just a month away.

"It means that everyone's getting into winter mode, seeing the snow it brings ski racing at the forefront of everyone's mind - it's really good."

Alcott took part in her third Olympics in Turin four years ago and finished 11th, which was the best result achieved by a British female since 1968.
