Ischgl To Open With Roxette

Ischgl To Open With Roxette

Ischgl are known for starting the season with a bang and this year will be no different as they have announced that Roxette will be headlining their start of season party on 26th November 2011.

The season's opening party takes place at the bottom of the slopes and is free for anyone with a season or multi-day (such as weekend) lift pass, with the slopes usually open for the weekend. The Swedish pop stars will be taking skiers back to the '80s and '90s with their hits, though don't expect to see too many one-pieces and mono-skis on show.

Ischgl, one of Austria's top party resorts, is renowned for its start of season and closing parties. In recent seasons the resort has boasted headlines acts that include The Killers, Katy Perry, Rihanna, The Gossips and wait for it... Lionel Richie! This year's act may be a little more retro, but will surely get a great reception from the 20,000 strong crowd.

All that's left now is to convince the boss I need a trip to Austria for the weekend.
