Snow report | 16 Jan 2017 Winter is now in full swing and there is some fantastic snow conditions across many of the ski countries in Europe. With all the fresh snow there has been some marvelous powder conditions in many resorts this weekend. 

Skiers and snowboarders this week have picked a fantastic time to be on the slopes this week. Here is where the best of the recent snow has fallen.

France


France has seen over a metre of snow in the past 7 days in some resorts, and many of our best-selling resorts receiving between 40-90cm of snow. The highest snow bases can be found in Montgenevre (220cm), Serre Chavalier (182 cm) and Val Thorens (170 cm). The best snowfall forecast this week is Cauterets in the Pyrenees with 45 cm predicted over the next 9 days. There’s no significant snow forecast this week for other ski resorts in France.

Austria


Austria had a brilliant start to the year with huge snowfalls in the first week of January. The good news continues as most resort have received between 15-40 cm of fresh snow in the past week and lots more is forecast in the next 9 days. The Arlberg ski area is set to get the best of the new snow with 92 cm in Lech, 79 cm in St Anton and 76cm in St Christoph forecast over the next 9 days.

Italy


Selected resorts in Italy boast fantastic top snow bases, including Pila (200cm), Gressoney (170cm) and Champoluc (150 cm). The best recent snowfall has been in La Thuile, Cervinia, Bormio and Courmayeur with between 30-50cm of fresh snow and the good snow continues for these resorts as they are forecast the most in Italy over the next 9 days.

Switzerland


There’s been brilliant snowfalls this week in some of our best-selling ski resorts, Verbier has had 95 cm, Murren 83 cm, Saas Fee 77 cm and Davos 61 cm. All ski resorts in Switzerland are expecting snow this week with between 16-87cm forecast.

Andorra


Andorra has had an incredible week with snowfalls peaking at 148 cm in Soldeu in the Grandvalira ski area! Another 60-79 cm is forecast again in ski resorts in Andorra over the next 9 days.
