Fun for oldies in Lech - 02/04/2014
Overall

With a late booking we had a week's holiday at an excellent price and a flight from Heathrow. Things you cannot control - snow: we picked a great week 23/3 where it snowed all Sunday and Monday and we had nearly a metre of fresh snow for the rest of the week. The sun came out, and the snow was rapidly disappearing by the end of the week. Pure luck on our part. Skiing: lifts link in with Zurs, Zug, Warth and one or two other smaller places, but not with St. Anton, although it is on the same lift pass. Runs around Lech are mainly pleasant blues and reds, with some tree lines runs. Resort: Lech is lovely, and although expensive, not significantly more so than other Alpine resorts. As we had Chalet board, we did not go hungry. Great resort for old people like us; lots of oldies on and off the slopes and not too many snow boarders. Chalet: Sonneck is a short bus ride from the centre of town and the ski lifts. Sonneck is quiet, but has reasonable in-house facilities including pool and sauna. Ski Total reps: the chalet manager and staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Apres ski: if you'd asked me 40 years ago........... Overall: a fab week for all 4 of us including one non-skier.

We arrived in a white out which dumped about 3ft of fresh powder for our amazing week in Lech. The chalet is basic and the pillows need to be replaced but everything very clean and the staff are excellent. The sauna and pool relived the hard days on the piste and breakfast and dinner were great and there was a wide variety to cater for all tastes. Everyone from the chefs to the hostess to the bartenders were chatty and very friendly and helpful with suggestions for dinner and drinks out. We are already considering going back to Lech next year!

What the heck go to Lech. - 21/11/2012

When I retire i'm going finish my knees off here in Lech. The restaurant at the top of the chairlift in Zug I think might have the best views of any restaurant I've been to. The best thing about Lech though is access to powder... there's so much space there's no way everyone can track out Lech after a dump of snow. I know some hidden spots but I'm not telling you where they are :-) It's a chilled out resort with more chatting rather than jumping and shouting. As all Austrian resorts, service is fantastic and you're surrounded by Austrian culture. If you have a few quid then luxury hotels are in abundance in Lech. If you want something affordable the Sonneck just outside Lech or chalet hotel Mont Fort. The Alberg is huge ski area, if you want to let off some steam then the steep stuff in St Anton way... I can't wait to go back.

This was our first chalet holiday and the Sonneck was the perfect place to stay. The chalet and the staff were exceptionally welcoming and the food and wine were superb. The resort was lovely and although the Sonneck was a short bus ride out of the village we never had to wait for a bus. They were very regular and always prompt. We booked quite late and got a good deal which was excellent value. We wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Sonneck again.

Review of holiday 3 - 10 April 2011 - 11/04/2011
Overall

My wife and I had a very pleasant holiday which was enhanced by the high standards achieved by the staff of the Sonneck. The welcome was warm and sincere from all the staff who greeted us; the food was prepared and served to a high standard (much higher than we were expecting for this grade of accommodation); the chalet was very well looked after, and our room was immaculate. We were made to feel that our holiday was important to the staff, and they did all they could to make it a success. Congratulations to Frank, the resort manager, Aimee, the chalet manager, and to all the chalet staff who were excellent ambassadors for Totalski.
