Overall: 4 of us stayed at the Club Hotel Les Airelles for a week in March 2011 and had a great time for a great price! IgluSki Booking: Very easy booking process, spoke with someone competent and were able to split the payments which made things easy as there were two couples. Accomodation: The Club Hotel Les Airelles is very basic with limited furniture, however, it is clean, in a fantastic location and the staff are very friendly. Those that expect luxury will be disappointed as the hotel is very tired but for the price you are likely to pay it is great. One could argue that the hotel needs a complete re-fit but then the price of a holiday here would have to rise dramatically and I think it would lose some of its appeal. Food: Everyone in the group agreed that the food was good. Some nights were better than others but this has a lot to do with personal tastes. Breakfast was good and the cakes in the afternoon pretty decent too! Resort - skiing: Great resort for skiing/boarding. Europe seemed to struggle for snow in 2011 and it was unusually warm but this is one of the reasons we chose Les Deux Alpes with its glaciers. The slopes towards town were mostly closed (only the one black option) due to lack of snow but because the ski area goes so high there was some fantastic skiing to be had! We had a beginner in our group who really enjoyed her ski school (ESF) and there are some challenging runs for the expert skier. Shame there wasn't more snow as there seems to be plenty of off-piste to tackle as well. Resort - apres: More of a night-time resort than an afternoon 'straight-after-skiing' one, but there is still a lot of fun to be had at any time of the day! Some really good bars/clubs - would recommend Smokey Joes, Smithys, Secrets, and Yeti.

I came back form the Les Airelles only a few weeks ago and had a fantastic time. The staff were great and always on hand for advice about the resort. The hosts prepared fresh filling food which is just what I needed after a hard days skiing. Infact the afternoon tea and cake was delicious. The huge plus points for me were the proximity to the lifts (the Diable is no further than 100m) as I HATE walking in ski boots and the bar area in the hotel. Its great to have a few drinks after dinner in preparation for a good night on the town. All in all a great chalet hotel for the price and will definitely go back. Thanks for recommending Iglu.

I have just returned from a week in Les Deux alpes where I stayed in the chalet hotel Les Airelles. I was expecting the property to be quite basic given that it was a 2* but was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were comfortable and the food was well above the standard that I was expecting. The property itself has a nice living area with open fire as well as a good size flat screen TV and DVD player which was ideal for a night in when we decided not to hit the may bars that Les Deux Alpes has. As fare as the resort goes I was also very impressed. There was a real lack of snow this season as skiing back to the village was a struggle but once you got up high the skiing was great. I learnt whilst I was there that Les Deux Alpes has the biggest skiable glacier in France and that was a great bonus. Even when it didn't snow in the village it was snowing up top and I couldn't believe that we managed to get 3 powder days from a holiday in the last week of March during a season in was reported in the UK press as having 'no snow' . It just goes to show, don't believe everything that the papers say. On top of having a huge glacier Les Deux Alpes also has one of the best snow parks in the Aples. It is very well maintained and will give any discerning free style skier a good challenge.

Took a group of 23 in first half of April 2011. Skiing very acceptable in what was a poor year for snow throughout the Alpes. Hotel very basic (as expected) but reasonably clean, food good enough and service from staff astonishingly high - nothing was too much trouble. Our biggest issue was the noise from other buildings in the area - it went on all night and into the small hours with much shouting, thumping music and drunken singing into the small hours. All with the odd 20 minute break which made you hope it had stopped for the night - and then it started again. Groan!!!
