Alp d’Huez, 12th March 2022 - 21/03/2022
Overall

We had a great week in Alp d’Huez, there was a good group of us, and I’d think that we caught the last of the good snow in this south-facing resort. The Piste Bashers worked hard to keep all the runs open and in good condition. The Sarenne is supposed to be the longest black run in the Alps, but half of it is virtually flat. The Tunnel can be challenging but is the only black I’ve seen with an up hill section. There’s lots of nice red and blue runs all over that would suit anyone. The only criticism of the ski area would be that Alp d’Huez is not really a ski in ski out resort, even if snow conditions were perfect. You will be walking, carrying your skis at the beginning, and at the end of the day. The lifts aren’t quite as well linked up as they are in Val & Tignes, or the Three Valleys, for instance. The shuttle busses are thin on the ground too. Other than that, it’s a great area for a week’s skiing.

Love the skiing in Alpe D’Huez, even during half term week queues were ok. Chalet De L’Alitport - great location for ski in/out but not if you want apres ski in town (didn’t bother us). Chalet is in need of some attention just a bit of money to spruce up and could be great. Iglu very helpful in booking.

Nice resort - 01/09/2019
Overall

This is the second or third time I've been to AD, it's a nice resort, spread in an arc across the valley side. Not the largest area, but quite a bit of easy access off piste and easy to navigate. A few flat transfers so not the best for boarders if you want to avoid a few minutes skating here and there.

Fantastic ski area & apres! - 21/05/2019
Overall

Deux Alpes is a fantastic ski area, with something for everyone! A great beginner area & a fantastic park, with some great off-piste! It's great for boarders too! Pano Bar offers excellent on mountain apres & the town has some great little bars. There are some fantastic traditional French restaurants serving fondue & like all across the resort & it is really easy to get around.
