I went snowboarding to Alpe D' Huez for first time at the end of Jan 09. The first day snow was excellent; it had just finished dumping so all was very fresh. This is a brilliant resort if it is snowing a lot and it has tons of runs. It only snowed the one day so some of the slopes got icy towards middle/end of the week but it was still very enjoyable. Pros - everything is easy to access. Ski School was very good. It was my friends first time ever on the slopes and they did snowboarding, 1-1/2hrs in lessons and he was well on his way. The beer was pretty reasonable to be honest. However water costs almost same as beer! There are loads of Long runs, beautiful scenery and it is a huge resort with very friendly people. It is definitely worth going to. Cons - Some Pistes did get allot of Moguls, but only in sections. A lively Apres ski atmosphere didn't seem to exist and it lacked that buzz and vibrancy. This may only be due to time of year however.

Great resort, there are actually two board parks, the smaller of which is very good. There's lots to do for non skiers/riders. The schools seem to be very organised and professoinal. this is the best resort I've been to, can be quite exspensive though.

Great resort and runs into town. The old area is best to stay in. No flat sections on the piste so no pushing or walking so is great for us snow boarders, just go up and ski down ideal!
